For those people who are as careful and cautious with their VIE as I am, here a method to protect your VIE-volumes, while reading them.
The cover is exchangeable for every volume, from the thinnest to the thickest one, so you have to make only one cover!
See "Cover 01 & 02" for Pictures.
See "VIE Exchangeable Cover Drawing 01 & 02" for drawings with the dimensions.
Beware, the dimensions on these drawings are for the "Reader's Edition. When you are the lucky owner of the "DeLuxe Edition" you will have to change the dimensions according tot the format of the volumes of these "DeLuxe Edition".
Of course you can use this method also for every book-serial when they have an identical height or width dimension.
Perhaps also an idea.
To protect my VIE for damaging and/or (sun)light on my bookshelf, I have also made a sleeve for every volume.
The sleeve is of course not as nice as the original book, but the protection is (for me) more important.
See "Sleeve 01 & 02" for pictures.
The green material that I have used for both the cover and for the sleeve is cardboard with a thickness of appr. 0,5 mm, but you can use every strong kind of paper/cardboard.
The used transparent material is the same clear plastic material that is used for sleeves to protect documents.
Depending on the thickness of the cardboard, you perhaps will have to de- or increase the dimension of the Folding-line width. Make a little test before making the definite cover!
Used tools are only a pencil and ruler, a (sharp) knife, and a Paper Scoring Folding Tool, also called a Bone Folder.
