DEAD RINGERS. This old Bette Davis movie from 1964 recalls the great score and credits of "Lady in the Cage" (see it, great stuff), but goes off on a "Double Indemnity" crack to the skull. Bette Davis has a twin sister who had a rich husband who died from a 'bad heart'. The rich twin is a real piece of work! She's got it all including a gabby superficial shopping pal who in 20 seconds will drive you crazy with her incessant chirping. She's all about money this evil twin while the other less fortunate Bette Davis is going to have her bar closed from having not paid rent for so long. Drastic measures? Yes! Blackmail, deciet, or politeness? Hmm. Find out yourself you nosey info-thief! Those peepers of Bette Davis are just talking without a mouth telling the whole story of what's up. There is a wonderful dumpster of convoluted muck in the pristine palace the rich twin lives in. I bet you want to jump in and find the used rubbers dont you? This movie was filmed as well as any Hitchcock. The Andre Previn score was like the "Addams Family" with blasting medicine balls of tuba and horns with a wiggy cello or theremin creeping out the scenes. If you can find it watch it. Brutallo.com just started carrying it, that's how I got it in my eyebrain.
