Rereading -as I've forgotten much of it- John C Wright's Count to a Trillion, prior to starting on its sequel.

A note on Songs of a Dead Dreamer and Grimscribe:  I don't think I've ever read anything quite like these stories. Ligotti is really only comparable to Lovecraft in his basic story structure, other than that, I'd day he's more like an incredibly precise Ramsey Campbell - he has a very similar ability to get right under your skin and make you feel somehow unclean (but enjoyably so, if that's possible Tongue). His style is much more suggestion than revelation,  much more ambiguity than fact. Very much recommended, but perhaps more for those in the know than the neophyte horror reader.

My dog barks... some.
