There was a scifi story not so many years back, in one of the major scifi pulps, about the rise & fall of writing as a technology. Essentially [SPOILER] ... speech-capable AI replaced the written word; books were no more; no one could read at all; writing was obsolete & forgotten. It was quite a sad tale for me, and avid reader, to read!

Damn me if I can remember the title, the author, or the rag. Anybody know? I'd love to revisit it. I might not even remember rightly that it was in a pulp (but I think it was).
