I just finished The Worm (Ouroboros) for the teenth time, and looked around for something to read. I came across After Things Fell Apart (which I've read
a couple of times), by Ron Goulart (notorious for being Capt. Kirk's ghostwriter). Goulart did a lot of potboilers, but he's consistently
entertaining. He wrote ATFA in 1970, and more than reading like a prediction of the future, it reads like a history of the last 30-some years. BTW, if you
decide to attempt The Worm, simply skip the first 30 pages or so (you can read them after you finish the book, if you like).....
